Wk 42 Day 6
Nahum 1:3 (NLT)
The LORD is slow to get angry, but his power is great, and he never lets the guilty go unpunished. He displays his power in the whirlwind and the storm. The billowing clouds are the dust beneath his feet.
.. This was a prophecy known to have happened 100 years after this prophecy to Nineveh by the prophet Nahum.
.. This was known to be written 150 years after the prophet Jonah.
// What does this tell us about GOD?
.. He is slow to get angry BUT his power is great to punish the guilty.
.. God is a patient God to those who are obedient - even at the times when we're disobeying Him, He gives us time to repent. BUT He's also all-powerful to punish those who disobedient to Him consistently. He is loving and just.
APPS:
.. Knowing that God is loving and just, the more we must fear Him and live in reverence of Him.
.. Since He doesn't let the guilty unpunished, we must repent from our sins because He is slow to anger and abounding in love.
.. God gives us a second chance.
THOUGHTS:
.. If Nineveh repented of their sins as they did during the time of Jonah, it's possible that they would've been saved from God's wrath, as Nahum prophesied it.
.. Meaning, if we repent from our sins, God will abound His grace all the more! He is able to forgive and erase all our sins.
BELLE:
.. (SIGH) God is awesome! A forgiving God and slow to anger.
.. Today, I thought about my "craziness" about 5-6 years ago. I've had moments today when I thought my past sins would find me out. Yet, the assurance of the forgiveness that God has already given to me, I must take in faith. GOD HAS ALREADY FORGIVEN ME and His grace abounds if I live a life of repentance. I am! PRAISE GOD! Only through the power of the Holy Spirit, I am able to stay away and not entertain my sin nature ever again. In Jesus' name, it is now dead...
.. I do not need to live in fear for the punishment of my sins because I am forgiven in Christ- through His blood that has bought me and saved me!
.. Do not condemn yourself any longer.. YOU BELONG TO CHRIST!
// LORD, THANK YOU for the forgiveness of my sins. I am so embarrassed to even just remember what I did in the past and to lay it out in my mind once again. Today, I pray that you will continue to overwhelm me with your grace and love as you already are doing. You are my comfort, and thank you for your grace and mercy! I will live for you all the days of my life. In Jesus' name, amen.
