Deut. 28:1-2; 15 [AMP]
1IF YOU will listen diligently to the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
2And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you if you heed the voice of the Lord your God.
15But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God, being watchful to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day, then all these curses shall come upon you and overtake you:.. These are the blessings and curses that the Lord had told the Israelites to know
.. The Lord has promises that come with conditions "if's"
.. Though these blessings and curses were directly for the Israelites, we acan learn principle of what God does and who He is.
// WHAT DOES THIS TELL ME ABOUT GOD?
.. He is able to bless or curse
.. He requires obedience
.. He blesses those who obey; curses those who do not
.. He is able to do anything immeasurably, beyond comprehension
.. He must be feared
// BELLE:
.. What else do I need to do but obey? I know God is able to do anything in my life, fulfilling His promises and doing what He said He would do. Yet, my obedience is necessary. For the most part, God's promises have "if's". I gotta heed those "if's" and do them. Trusting and believing that He will do them.
.. These are simple truths but they are to be remembered daily.
// Lord, thank you for who YOU ARE! I pray that you will just guide me as I obey You. I have heard this so many times - obedience - and I want to fully obey you daily in my life. Thank you for strengthening me. Daily, I pray that you will continue to help me master obedience in my life - no complains, no whining. I will just do what you ask. In Jesus' name, amen.
