11 But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there no prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of the LORD through him?"
An officer of the king of Israel answered, "Elisha son of Shaphat is here. He used to pour water on the hands of Elijah."
12 Jehoshaphat said, "The word of the LORD is with him." So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13 Elisha said to the king of Israel, "What do we have to do with each other? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother."
"No," the king of Israel answered, "because it was the LORD who called us three kings together to hand us over to Moab."
// THOUGHTS:
.. The Lord appoints people in the ministry office for a reason - He has plans and purpose for them; specific for each office and person.
.. Elisha was a prophet
.. He functioned in his office as he should
.. He was known for it
.. He was asked to "do his job"
.. Elisha did it
// BELLE:
.. God has appointed me to be a teacher (of the Word and music) - I ought to be faithful at it.
.. Has people called me to "function in my job?"
.. Do people know this is what I do? To some extent yes.
.. If not, maybe I haven't done it well yet? Or maybe I haven't done enough?
.. I just need to be faithful where God has placed me.
.. May others be able to say "Go, Belle is there... inquire of the Lord through her " or "Go, Belle is there, she'll teach you how to do it (musically)"
.. I WILL BE FAITHFUL; I WILL LEARN MORE; I WILL FUNCTION AS I OUGHT!
// Lord, thank you for reminding me the importance of my call as a teacher in the Word and in music. I know that You are using my talents and abilities to further Your Kingdom here on earth. Please help me to be faithful AT ALL TIMES IN ALL THAT I DO! Help me to conduct myself worthy, first of your Gospel, then to my call. In Jesus' name, amen.
