Beauty, skill, wealth, splendor, or possessions

Ezekiel

28:5 By your great skill in trading
you have increased your wealth,
and because of your wealth
your heart has grown proud.

28:17 Your heart became proud
on account of your beauty,
and you corrupted your wisdom
because of your splendor.
So I threw you to the earth;
I made a spectacle of you before kings.

29:9 Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
" 'Because you said, "The Nile is mine; I made it," 10 therefore I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt a ruin and a desolate waste from Migdol to Aswan, as far as the border of Cush.

// THOUGHTS:

I believe that the Lord always deserves to get ALL THE GLORY in everything. When the Lord told Ezekiel to prophecy against these nations [Tyre and Egypt in this context], He made sure that they see and got pointed out what they have done wrong. What we can observe is that, these 2 nations have put their confidence in the wrong places: (Tyre) beauty, skill, wealth, splendor; (Egypt) possession of the Nile.

Have we given God all the glory in all that we do? Or have we put our confidence in temporary earthly things as beauty, skill, wealth, splendor or possessions? We must learn to give back the glory to God in everything. Acknowledging that all these are just a share of His own great glory. We have no right to claim glory based on these things, but rather, we must learn to live in gratitude for allowing us to have these things for the moment of our brief stay on earth.

Whatever beauty, skill, wealth, splendor or possession God has entrusted and shared with us for our needs and for the purpose of our stay here on earth, we must use them to show off His glory - NOT ourselves.

// BELLE:

The beauty, skill, wealth, splendor, or possessions that I temporarily have belongs to the Lord. I must use them for the furtherance of His glory here on earth through me as His vessel.

Never get conceited, never be proud, never waste, never exaggerate, never hoard. I WILL GIVE GLORY BACK TO THE LORD IN EVERYTHING AND IN ALL THINGS.

// Lord, You deserve it. I pray that you will guard from me inching myself to any of these that won't glorify you in any way. IN JESUS' name, Amen.
