Persevere

James 1:4

Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

// THOUGHTS:

Perseverance comes into play when we are being tested in our faith – whether against our own people (those who are there to sharpen us) or against the people of the world (those who test our firmness in the faith who aren’t believers.)

James’ encouragement to us is to persevere under these circumstances.  It is one that will finish the work in us after each test.  Therefore, PERSEVERE – last, endure…

// BELLE:

There are specific areas of my life I am facing the testing of my faith.  God is reminding me constantly to persevere – something that will complete that test; to take me to maturity; so I do not lacking anything.

Simple, but very hard to do especially when I just want to give up on certain things.  But yet, the Word of God is always clear and it will always sustain me until I reach the fulfillment of each test by perseverance.

I must last.  I must endure.  I must persevere.  Doesn’t matter how hard it is.  Think of the great fulfillment of God’s promises.  Look forward to it and just enjoy in the process of perseverance.

Do I believe?  Yes.  Will I persevere each test?  I will.  I can’t do it, but He’ll give me power so I can through Him.

// LORD, I know I gotta endure no matter what.  Yes, I know my faith is being tested daily whether I want to keep going or not.  Yes, there are things in my life that You know I am confident about – and I am sure that my faith is sure.  Yet, you also know that there times that my faith in You on certain things aren’t so certain because of doubts of what I see in present circumstance.  Faith is not seeing.  So, I have no excuse with my faithlessness on these certain things.  The answers are obvious, and you are the answer to all my doubts.  Help me to build up my faith day after day on the things I have a hard time trusting in.  I already trust in You, but I pray that it will be 100% in all aspects of my life.  I entrust that to You.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
