1 Samuel 14:30
How much better it would have been if the men had eaten today some of the plunder they took from their enemies. Would not the slaughter of the Philistines have been even greater?”
>>
Saul
.. poor strategy for battle; not allowing the soldiers to eat (which could've been their strength to win the battle; they were already faint (v. 28b).
Jonathan
.. regained strength after eating honey (v. 29) which could've been done by the soldiers as well to regain their own strength for battle.
Principles
.. Food is necessary for battle; both physical and spiritual.
.. Do not deprive the body with what's needed; take a good strategy - fill up before the fight/attack.
.. Leaders can sometimes be overwhelmed with certain agendas in themselves that can/may cause them to decide with poor strategies.
.. At times, strategies can be on what the staple necessity is; such as food for strength.
>>>
.. Take a good strategy - be at the lookout on what is the staple necessity of whatever I am leading. Be filled up - with God's Word always then on the physical to be able to "fight/attack" with full energy.
.. Be a catalyst to a good strategy. A leader in-charge may have overwhelming agendas that can cause poor strategies. Good support system is necessary on my end; loyalty is necessary regardless human frailties.
>>>
Lord, help me to be keen and discerning to Your lead and guidance in my life as I lead others. As a "Jonathan", help me to be loyal in every way I can to be a catalyst to a good strategy. Forgive me for not responding properly at times; when loyalty is the least on my list. Help me to always be filled up with Your presence that I may extend that to those who need it; even to the ones I might think don't need it. Please help me to keep a humble and lowly heart at all times. All these for the glory of Your name, so be it!
