Week 16 Day 5
1 Samuel 23; Psalm 31, 54; Matthew 7
Matthew 7:25
The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
>>
Wise man who builds his house on THE ROCK
.. hears the words of Jesus
.. puts them into practice
Foolish man who builds his house on THE SAND
.. hears the words of Jesus
.. does NOT put them into practice
The difference: PUT KNOWLEDGE INTO ACTION
What’s the test? Rain, streams, winds that beat against the house.
If we want to stand against these things, we ought to DO and PUT God’s Word into practice. The reason why many people fail to stand is because we know so much about the Word yet we fail to PUT them into practice. A person who PRACTICES GOD’S WORD CANNOT BE SHAKEN because he is grounded on the SOLID ROCK.
>>>
No rain, no streams, no winds can put me down as long as I know I am standing on THE SOLID ROCK by doing the will of God – what He’s told me in His Word, through others, and through the conviction He’s put in my heart.
I ought to always listen to what He’s got to tell me then I must do it – put it into practice. That’s the only way I can keep a solid foundation – doing the Word of God.
Anything that is not OF CHRIST is a sinking sand.
Build everything on the SOLID ROCK FOUNDATION OF CHRIST – decisions, relationships, endeavors, etc. – and watch no rain, no streams, and no winds can bring it down. Even with the winds that’s shaking me at times, I will not be moved or brought down because I will found myself in Christ.
Simply: DO THE WORD OF GOD!
>>>>
Thank You Lord, for again such a great reminder of Your truth. Please help me to DO YOUR WORD always. To build everything on Your solid ground. To do your Word regardless of my feelings, my own agendas and my own judgments on things. Let You be my guide and that everything in me be founded in You. You are awesome and I praise You for You are my Solid Rock! In Jesus’ name, amen.
