Week 17 Day 4
2 Samuel 1; Psalm 140; Matthew 13
Matthew 13:15; 22
15 For this people’s heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.
The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
>>
There is a combination of callousness of the heart, hardness of hearing, eyes closing, worries, and the deceitfulness of wealth that causes a person not to see the Word is it is. It is always good to assess ourselves as to why sometimes we aren’t hearing the voice of God as clearly as we used to, or we do not understand or why we aren’t healed, etc. Do we allow the worries of life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the Word up? Are our hearts been calloused that we actually do not feel it come through our hearts? or closing our eyes or covering our ears to the truth? Enjoy the benefits of knowing and hearing the word of God: seeing the truth, understanding, turning away from sin, and even healing. Do not allow the worries and deceitfulness of life choke the Word.
>>>
I admit that I’ve allowed worries to creep in my life. I’ve somehow covered my eyes to, closed my ears to hear, and perhaps, my heart is somewhat calloused because I’ve slowly allowed the worries to take control of situations. I will unveil, I will strip-off, I will entrust worries, I will listen to see, hear and turn away from the wickedness that this world brings us to do and I know that I will also be healed. All these are going to be done by the power of the Holy Spirit, whom I now have being in Christ. Now, it’s all up to me which one I allow to take control of me. I choose the Holy Spirit.

Lord, You have already overcome. Please help me to remember that and to always keep you fresh and alive in me; not allowing the troubles and worries and deceitfulness in life overtake. I pray that you soften my heart; that I may be unveiled from the troubles that’s causing me not to see things as they are. Help me to grow in my faith and help me to grab hold to Your promises. Thank You because you are always faithful! Glory to Your name always, in Jesus’ name, amen.
