2 Kings 10:28-31
 28 So Jehu destroyed Baal worship in Israel. 29 However, he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit—the worship of the golden calves at Bethel and Dan.
 30 The LORD said to Jehu, “Because you have done well in accomplishing what is right in my eyes and have done to the house of Ahab all I had in mind to do, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.” 31 Yet Jehu was not careful to keep the law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit.

  • God delights when we "destroy" or get rid of or stay away from those who aren't His work; and those who are associated with it;
  • But God delights all the more when our obedience is full; not partial
  • Man can sometimes obey the Lord partially; only what may seem comfortable or easy and not obey the Lord on things that seem hard to do or get rid of
  • Jehu's disobedience caused the whole nation of Israel to sin.
  • Jehu followed the disobedience of Jeroboam; a forefather

// When the Lord tells me something to do, I need to obey FULLY and immediately.  The Lord may be happy and delighting that I have gotten rid of the "big idols" in my life however, the Lord wants a continual and progressive and practical obedience every single day.  Obedience is not one time only but daily; 365 days a year, 7 days a week and 24 hours a day! I will be obedient at all times; continually growing and just obeying the Lord in all things - big or small!

// Lord, thank you for such a wonderful reminder of what it means to really fully obey you at all times!  I pray that you strengthen me to conquer the fears that come along the way of fully obeying you.  I know that when you  call us to obey, you equip us of what we need.  I pray that You will strengthen me and just give me courage to move up, on and on every single day.  Thank you for you are good always.  In Jesus' name, amen.
