Good to Drink

Exodus 15:24-25 (NLT)

24 Then the people complained and turned against Moses. “What are we going to drink?” they demanded. 25 So Moses cried out to the Lord for help, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink.

People complained about their situation (no water to drink. necessity.)

Moses CRIED OUT to the LORD FOR HELP.

The LORD SHOWED a piece of wood (solution)

MOSES THREW into the water.

Necessity, bitter water, bitter situation, was turned into something “good to drink.”

What’s my bitter situation at this moment?

Have I cried out to God for help?

When I did cry to the Lord, what did the Lord show that He would use for me to “throw” into the situation?

Did I “throw” what God said I must use?

If I did throw it already, did I witness or am I witnessing the turning of this bitterness to something “good to drink?”

God is a God who turns bitterness into something “good to drink.”  I can trust in Him and know that whatever “wood” (solution) He uses for me to throw to make bitter situations sweet will be all for the good; so it would be “good to drink” not only for my own use but also for others who are in the same bitter situation they’re in.  I must also be willing to believe and trust that when I “throw the wood,” God will turn it into something good at His own timing.

.. Sabbath year – on the go!

.. God will use this to make bitter situations sweet.

Continuing on to the next part of the passage…

“It was there at Marah that the Lord set before them the following decree as a standard to test their faithfulness to him.”

--- The LORD used the bitter times to be a test of our faithfulness to the Lord.

And God’s promise will never change…

“He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”"

--- The Lord is capable to do ANYTHING; as long as we remain faithful and obedient to Him, His covenant of HEALING is being realized.

// Lord, thank You for Your love and for Your covenant.  Help me that as I’ve “thrown the wood” that you would help me to wait for your timing when you the realization of that sweetness comes.  I pray that You would guide me and be with me to trust, be faithful to you, and to be obedient to You in all that I do.  Thank You so much for Your goodness.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
