His Way

^52-54Jesus said, "Put your sword back where it belongs. All who use swords are destroyed by swords. Don't you realize that I am able right now to call to my Father, and twelve companies—more, if I want them—of fighting angels would be here, battle-ready? But if I did that, how would the Scriptures come true that say this is the way it has to be?"

“All who use swords are destroyed by swords.” = implied as those who do things in the spirit-realm ways are rewarded/will experience the rewards in spirit-realm ways.  Which one would you rather want to be a part of?  Spirit-realm or Physical-realm?

 

// God has His ways of ordering things for us.  If it were us who were to be followed, then we’ll have a lot of crooked ways and thinking on how to do things in life.  Yes, God has given us the ability and permission to do everything however we want to, but we know that not everything will be beneficial for us.  Even Jesus had to DENY his rights and his own power to do whatever He could’ve done to prevent things or to not allow things to happen. Yet, he let the Spiritual-realm do its job; it’s order and it’s ways even if he had to limit his rights and limit his freedom in order to ultimately glorify the Father in heaven. 

… GOTTA DENY MYSELF MORE AND MORE DAILY.  At home, with my relationships, my own desires and wants – FOR THE SAKE OF ULTIMATELY GLORIFYING MY FATHER IN HEAVEN just as Jesus did.

 

// Lord you have been so clear in many ways.  Yes, I do have the power and freedom to do things “by the sword…” Yet, your ways are always higher than mine.  And even if I have to deny myself, especially in areas I am not completely comfortable with or have enough reasoning to use my freedom and “power” to do things my way, I know that it will be what is best and will bring glory to Your name.  So, just like Jesus Your Son, not my will but Yours be done!  Please give me strength and the opportunity to apply this – Give me grace Lord to be bold and courageous.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
