Genesis 3:12 The man replied, “It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.”
13 Then the Lord God asked the woman, “What have you done?”
“The serpent deceived me,” she replied. “That’s why I ate it.”
As human beings we always have the blame game being passed around throughout the ages even when the world began. We nee to always remember that even when our sins are initially caused by someone else who lured us to be in such position, we still made the choice to go for that decision. Hence, we have to take ownership of our mistakes. God is faithful and just to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. Not as a license to sin, but to assure us that we do not need to play the blame game. Take ownership of your mistakes. God sees all things!
// I do need to take more ownership of my own actions. It always feels better when I am clean in my conscience instead of justifying my actions -- which i tend to do at times especially when my reasoning has weight. Yet, I need to trust that God sees all things and is JUST in his forgiveness, cleansing and judgement of the things we do. Knowing that God is faithful and just,i can be confident to take ownership when I make mistakes -- not to blame it on someone else but to take it as it is mine, no matter how it came to be such. For God sees ALL things.
Lord, i know you are sovereign in all things. Please forgive me for the many times I have blamed others for my actions. Help me to trust that You see all things and I need not to defend myself further when I think my reasonings are weighty. I pray that you give me a heart like yours -- always humble no matter what. Even when you had the power to show your greatness (and perhaps my reasoning to things), you contained yourself and had self-control. Help me to be more like you. I can do this through you alone, so I trust and rest in You. In Jesus' name, amen!
