28 Simeon took the child in his arms and gave thanks to God:
29 “Now, Lord, you have kept your promise,
and you may let your servant go in peace.
30 With my own eyes I have seen your salvation,
31 which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples:
32 A light to reveal your will to the Gentiles
and bring glory to your people Israel.”
and you may let your servant go in peace.
30 With my own eyes I have seen your salvation,
31 which you have prepared in the presence of all peoples:
32 A light to reveal your will to the Gentiles
and bring glory to your people Israel.”
Amazing! Simeon was in the waiting and in the look out of the Messiah - Jesus. The moment he saw Jesus as a baby, he knew - "With my own eyes I have seen your salvation..." That is a powerful moment.
How many of us would be able to say "With my own eyes I have seen..."? Oftentimes, we just let things be not seeing what God is doing or is bringing in our lives. We know that God fulfills His promises as well as brings our desires, that are in line with His will, come to pass in His own ways and time. Yet, our perspective remains in the worldly things. Not waiting nor in the look out for the fulfillment of God's promises.
Let us change our perspective in such a way that we know what God promises; we wait for the fulfillment of God's promises; we look out for the arriving of its fulfillment. Not only the fulfillment of our Godly desires but as well, the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ that is soon to come.
// I need to keep my perspective changed towards the fulfillment of God's promises in my life, the ministry, and His plans in the future. I have to KNOW His promises. I have to WAIT on His promises. And I have to LOOK OUT for the fulfillment of His promises. Today, I am reminded that God is still in the business of fulfilling promises. What promise of God do I know that I can wait on and look out for? That He provides, has a future for me, will use me for His glory, will fulfill the desires of my heart as I delight in Him, will restore relationships that have been destroyed... etc. I will be on the look out for those.
