Wk 27 Day 4
Psalm 78:4, 7
4 We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
>> We must tell of what the Lord has done to the next generation - those who are young, the children, the youth. We learn many things from the principles of our forefathers - our elders - what the Lord has taught them through the years. They are all compiled - the Bible. We have no excuse to help save our and our children's generation. We have been given what we and they need to know in order for us to trust in God and keep His commands. Our call is to teach it to them. How are we doing that? How often? Does this give us enough motivation to teach the Word and share to them what the Lord has done in us and in our forefathers?
:: This sums up of why I am called to Youth Ministry. This is the heart of my calling. To teach them the Word; to tell the them the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord (what He has done for me, my forefathers, and in the Word); to let them know the power of God and the wonders that he has done. With this, I am rest assured in Christ that they would put their trust in God, not forget His deeds and would keep His commands. Therefore... I must be faithful in what I am doing. Regardless of the times when I feel discouraged and face obstacles that may try to stop me from moving up in my ministry, I will remain faithful. I will do everything that I can - though costly, to improve, grow, be more effective, and be mighty powerful through Christ's strength in my ministry!
For God's glory - I must teach.
For God's glory - I must keep growing.
For God's glory - I must tell of HIS DEEDS to the next generation.
.. God, You are just amazing. All the things that You have done for me and the things You have done to our forefathers are great. They are incomparable. Forgive me for the times when I am just doing things as a "job". This is the reason why I am called - to tell them of Your great deeds, what You have done. This is the reason of how our children can and will know how to trust in You, not forget your deeds and keep your commands. Many times I have always thought of how to get them to walk in Your path with all the distractions in the world. Yet, here it is, You have given this to me. Help me to remain faithful in the call of teaching. I am honored to be an instrument in serving You; teaching them about You and sharing to them what You have done in my life. Thank you Jesus, in Your name, amen.
