Know To Live

Wk 27 Day 5

Proverbs 9:10
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

:: Wisdom is the acting of what we know. Understanding (reason) is knowing the holy. The beginning of wisdom is reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord. When we truly understand who God is (the holy), we in return, act towards it in awe - fear.

It is an oxymoron to say that we have the knowledge of the holy and not be in reverent fear - in awe - walking in wisdom. Wisdom encompasses life, provision, joy, happiness, everything good in life and above. Hence, our knowledge of God must reflect on the way we live our lives. Otherwise, we probably have not really understood who the holy one is. For in Him is life, perfection, and all the good things.

>> With what I know about God, I must live it out wholly as how he intends it to be. He wants me to know so I may live it out - for His glory. If I know so much about God and not live it out, it's just as good as not knowing Him. I need to be careful. If I am not acting in love anymore, in peace, in patience, in joy (both in my countenance and my words), and all that the FRUIT of the Spirit shows, I probably have not acted out what I know about Him. Constant assessment and evaluation of my life is important on a daily basis.

.. God, thank You for reminding me of the balance of having knowledge and wisdom (the acting of that knowledge). Help me to not separate both. Forgive me for the times when I have "so much" knowledge about you that I didn't live it out as much as I know. I pray that You will continually guide my life that everything I do will be out of what I know of You. Thank You for you are inexhaustible - thus, I continue to learn more about You that I may continue to live afresh daily. May my actions reflect on what I truly know about You. In Jesus' name, amen.
