7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
bring an offering and come into his courts.
Ascribe:
–verb (used with object), -cribed, -crib⋅ing.
| 1. | to credit or assign, as to a cause or source; attribute; impute: |
| 2. | to attribute or think of as belonging, as a quality or characteristic |
In the KJV it says: " 8Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name..."
This tells me how the Psalmist acknowledged that all glory belongs to the Lord. We must give it back to Him. No matter what happens in life, we must give the glory back to God. It only belongs to Him - ALONE.
How? (practical)
.. think about how God can be glorified in certain situations (current or past)
.. in what way can we ascribe to Him what is due to Him?
Belle:
.. I must see things "in His terms" and not mine.
.. He is to be glorified in everything in my life
.. The experiences I go through in life ought to be times where God is glorified and seen glorified; I have something great to look forward to; nothing to be sad about or to be worried about.
.. I must just ASCRIBE the GLORY BACK TO HIM!
After all... what is my life? It ought to just please my Maker - no more, no less.
:: Lord, (SIGH) You deserve ALL my praises. My life and my everything is YOURS. Help me to not see things in the physical but to see things in the spiritual - where I can look ahead to how you can be glorified in the next episodes of life. Glory belongs to You and I will give it to You! You deserve the highest praise that I can give. I love You, Jesus. Thank you for Your love for me.
