2 Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. You [King Asa] have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at war.
// KING ASA
.. was fully committed to God during his reign [2 Chron. 14-15] until his 36th year of reign
.. until then, they were at rest for they have put the Lord their God first and sought His face and His will
.. when he started doing his own thing, trusting in men rather than God, he was afflicted with a disease in his feet [2 Chron. 16:12] - a clear judgment of his disobedience and rebellion against the Divine Authority
// GOD
.. was gracious to them [2 Chron. 12] when God saw that they were repentant
.. gave rest to Asa during his reign because God was put first
.. will do His job with great delight when we put Him first and fully commit ourselves to Him
// BELLE
.. I will not ever come to a time (in Jesus' name) that later on I will not put God first anymore - IN THE NAME OF JESUS!
.. I will fully commit my life to Him daily under His submission and His will and authority all the days of my life
.. I choose to live my life for CHRIST all of my days no matter what comes across my life
.. What made Asa give in to do otherwise when he was really on fire and committed to the Lord?
- Chap. 16 was when he experienced some kind of opposition in his nation.
- He might have freaked out and trusted his own self instead of running to God for direction.
- He did things in his own strength (taking the silver and gold out of the treasuries of the Lord's temple... and sent it the king of Aram).
- He settled a treaty by his own authority most likely without consulting God
- It's possible that he just assumed that this was the right thing to do (not recorded; a presumption)
.. SEEK God out all the time no matter how small or big the situations are.
.. FIND out what it says in His Word first
.. TAKE TIME because God always His ways of doing things
.. If we learn to just wait, we will see God's ways unfold even the in the midst of an opposition
// LORD, thank you for teaching me of this. I pray that you will guide me in everything that I do for Your glory. May I never assume what you would do when I have to make decisions - whether big or small. Give me wisdom that I may be fully committed to You. May my commitment to You bring other people to Your feet, encourage them to be committed, to be on fire, and to see Your hand move to those who are truly seeking You. I rebuke myself from going away from Your will even in the smallest thing. Please rule my life and I know You will. Your Word is truth - Your eyes range throughout the earth to strengthen my heart as I fully commit to YOU! In Jesus' name, amen.
