Zephaniah 3:5, 8-9, 12
5 The LORD within her is righteous;
he does no wrong.
Morning by morning he dispenses his justice,
and every new day he does not fail,
yet the unrighteous know no shame.
8 Therefore wait for me," declares the LORD,
"for the day I will stand up to testify.
I have decided to assemble the nations,
to gather the kingdoms
and to pour out my wrath on them—
all my fierce anger.
The whole world will be consumed
by the fire of my jealous anger.
9 "Then will I purify the lips of the peoples,
that all of them may call on the name of the LORD
and serve him shoulder to shoulder.
12 But I will leave within you
the meek and humble,
who trust in the name of the LORD.
.. The Lord is just
.. Even with the people of Jerusalem, He has poured out His love on them - yet not withholding His wrath to those who deserved it
.. Those who remained faithful in the Lord He spared from His wrath
.. His wrath would purify the nation from all of them getting punished altogether - then they would be purified so they may worship and call on the name of the Lord
// Insights:
.. God is indeed just. We do not need to wait for His wrath to come down on us for us to act accordingly; for Him to purify us; or for us to start calling on and worship the name of the Lord. Since God is just, this gives us more motivation to do what He pleases because He really does what He says. If He says He is love, then He is love. If He says He is just, He also is just and would wipe you out in a snap if you're disobedient and hard-heartened.
.. Sometimes God also wipes out everything in us in order for us to call on Him - purifying us that we may see that He really is the sovereign Elohim!

.. My God is just. I must continue to live for Him. There may be times that I will be pruned and purified by all the things that needs to be removed from my life so I may truly worship and call on Him without any hindrance. I will just trust in Him when this happens. For now, I must remain a worshipful and reverent, ardent attitude of awe in fear of God. Because He is just, I must fear Him. He knows what to do. He does not do wrong. He knows because He is perfect! I must revere Him daily.
// Lord, I know you are just. Help me to grasp this today more and more as I think about it. I pray that you will give me the ability to comprehend even just a little bit of this today. I trust in Your Word that You are just - that you will purify the things that don't belong to me anymore for I am belong to You. I pray that You will strengthen me. Whatever it is that you want to do in my life, that's because You are just and You will let the righteous win in my life. You are my banner - Jehovah Nissi! I will be victorious. In Jesus' name, amen.
