Wk 45 Day 4
Psalm 130:5-6
"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.
.. the waiting of the redemption of Israel
.. we have the redemption of Israel - Jesus Christ
.. the Psalmist prayer has been fulfilled and answered in Christ
// PRINCIPLES:
.. we have redemption in Christ alone
.. our sins have been forgiven through Christ's death on the cross
.. our hope is in the Word of God
.. to wait in hope is to trust in God's word
.. God's Word is living and active - reliable and full of hope, hence our redemption has been fulfilled as the Scriptures said in the old covenant - prophecies fulfilled
.. God's Word is never changing, thus, is infallible - certain and trustworthy
.. waiting is an action word
.. active - not stagnant, constantly moving
.. it is moving forward
.. "more than watchmen wait for the morning"
.. watchman - a person who keeps guard over a building at night, to protect it from fire, vandals, or thieves.
.. waiting like a watchman means to keep guard and to protect from harm
// BELLE:
.. I already have the redemption of my sins - Jesus Christ - praise Him!
.. I must walk as someone redeemed, not defeated, not someone who has lost hope, happy, blessed, and with the purpose of glorifying Jesus daily.
.. If I can put my hope in God for the salvation of my soul, how much more the little things in life? I can totally put my hope in His Word. Whatever His Word says, I must believe, trust and put my hope. I have nothing to fear or worry about.
.. If waiting (as watchmen do) means actively keeping guard and protecting, then I must be so. To keep guard from harm - walking in obedience according to the Word; to protect means putting a guard up always - not allowing the enemy to penetrate by having the full armor of God
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
-Ephesians 6:10-18
.. As I wait, I must rely on God's Word - to not lose hope; even when things don't seem to go the way they should, I must go back to what the Word says - because it will not change. I just trust and obey!
.. Guard up, protect = in Christ, through His Word, and living up the way He wants me to!
.. Waiting actively
// Lord, how awesome are You! My redemption, my salvation. You are worthy of all my praises. All that I am is all for Your glory. As I continue to wait for things to unfold in my life, help me to rely on Your Word. Your Word is truth and Your Word is my hope. Thank you for giving me such a great guide that will never fail. What Your Word says, I believe and trust that in Your time, I will be able to enjoy what You have promised. If you have already taken cared of the most important thing, my redemption from my sins, all the rest are nothing in comparison to that. I have nothing to fear; nothing to worry about. You are awesome. I will wait - my soul waits - I put my hope in Your Word. Help me to walk in your precepts that I may be guarded against the enemy. In Jesus' name, amen.
