Enjoy Life

Wk 48 Day 6

Ecclesiastes 11:9
⁹ Be happy, young man, while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you to judgment.

.. A great way to live life is to enjoy it.
.. As King Solomon says, "be happy..." "let your heart give you joy..." "follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see..." - these are words of encouragement to enjoy life
.. YET, he ends by saying "know that for all these things [that we choose to follow], God will bring you to judgment." - meaning, each of the choices that we make will still have a good and bad consequence.

// SO...

.. It doesn't mean that to enjoy is to follow the ways of our heart in all its entirety. There are things in our hearts that may be bad - wrong motives, wrong intentions - those we do not follow. Both the good and the bad will be judged. Therefore, we must enjoy life for what is best for us as the Word directs us to do. Not just following the heart blindly. If our hearts are in-line with the Word, we can be rest assured that we are enjoying it to its fullest as the Word directs it. However, how do we know that our hearts are in-line with the Word? Constant renewal of the mind (Romans 12:2) and not conforming to the worlds, but to the Word. God's discernment will be upon us if we are eager to listen and not despise the conviction when we know our hearts aren't leading to the right direction.
.. We must, then, enjoy the godly things in our hearts - that's what we ought to listen to. The Godly intentions and the Godly motives that only can spring up if our hearts are filled with GOD. Otherwise, we may be enjoying life in the wrong direction.

.. YES, I am enjoying life while I am young!
.. YES, I will enjoy life to its fullest - following the ways of my heart - a heart that's inline with the Word alone, not on how the world tries to re-form its ways.
.. I will constantly keep my heart in check whether my motives are Godly or humanly - then, follow what's Godly (of course!)
.. I will not allow anything that will corrupt my heart to lead me to the wrong direction. Why the heart? Because we feel with the heart - and God can use that to speak to us - our convictions and our sensitivity to the Spirit of God.

// LORD, how awesome is YOUR WORD. Thank you for reminding me to keep my heart healthy always by letting it be molded by Your Word. I pray that you will enable me to discern at all times, small and big, when I have to make choices daily. I want to enjoy life the best that I can as how You provide it daily with good things. Please keep me away from anything that will corrupt my heart for I only want YOUR Word to be hidden in my heart. Thanks so much for Your love that fills me up daily to enjoy life to its fullest. Nothing on this earth can surpass Your great love for me. I will chase after You daily. I love You Lord. All these I lift up to in Your Son's name JESUS, amen.
