Song of Songs 3:2-4

2 I will get up now and go about the city,
through its streets and squares;
I will search for the one my heart loves.
So I looked for him but did not find him.

3 The watchmen found me
as they made their rounds in the city.
"Have you seen the one my heart loves?"

4 Scarcely had I passed them
when I found the one my heart loves.
I held him and would not let him go
till I had brought him to my mother's house,
to the room of the one who conceived me.

// HMMM

3:4 Found him - Christ met me, and manifested his love to me. Mother's house - As the spouse here, signifies particular believers, so her mother is the universal church, or the true Jerusalem, which hath its rise from above, which is the mother of us all, Gal 4:26, in which Christ and believers are united, and have sweet communion together in holy ordinances, into which believers are said to bring Christ, by faith and prayer. Conceived me - Christ is as it were the father that begets, and the church the mother that conceives and brings forth believers. [Wesley Notes]

// BELLE:

.. I did not realize right away that this is talking about the Bride and the Bridegroom - The church and Christ.
.. It is true, (v. 2) that many of us looked for "the one my heart loves" in the wrong places - and will never"find him"
.. Now that I have found the one my heart loves - Christ, (v. 4) I must hold on to Him and not let Him go.
.. He's the only One that can satisfy all that I need in life
.. (v. 11b) "...on the day of his wedding, the day his heart rejoiced." reminds me of when I received Christ - accepted and "wed" Him - when I said "Yes, I do"
.. I am Christ's bride - His church (a part of). I gotta live my life in faithfulness to my Groom - Christ Jesus, my Lord and my Saviour.

// Lord, You have truly shown me WHO YOU ARE this week. How great are you oh Lord! Help me to be faithful to You in all that I do - that I will not allow anything to ruin my relationship with you - that I will be totally faithful to You, my Groom! (SIGH) I cannot ask for any other Groom (spiritually) other than You. May, one day when the time is right, I find the (earthly) groom you have prepared for me; one that you have entrusted to care for and be the one to satisfy (earthly) love. I cling to You God. I will be faithful, in Jesus' name, amen.
