David said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord. Therefore will I make merry [in pure enjoyment] before the Lord.
// THOUGHTS:
.. David celebrated his promotion with undignified worship
.. Even in his prayer (2 Sam. 7:18-29), he's humbly stated his reverence and thankfulness to God.. Michal (his wife) despised him for what he did (v. 16b).. Michal's "despisement" might have caused her to have no children (v. 23)
.. God must not care about how we worship Him
.. David was not really naked; he wore a linen ephod
.. But for Michal it was a disgrace
.. It was only in Michal's eyes - even David said that he would be honored in the presence of the slave girls (v.22b)
.. Did David not care then that he was becoming a stumbling block to Michal?
.. David only cared about what God would think about him and the way he worshiped God
.. People will ALWAYS say something (just like Michal) - to whether judge or just fulfill their own desires
.. God looks at the heart of the people
.. If one of the reason why Michal didnt have any children was his "despisement" to the way David worshiped God, it tells us that God saw Michal's heart
.. It's possible that Michal was being judgmental - and though we don't see her heart, but God did; we just know the outcome (v. 23)
// THEREFORE:
.. Be pure with our worship to God - our way of worship
.. People will always have something to say as we cannot please everybody
.. If someone was to say something with regards to how we worship God, we take it up to God, as long as we remain a clear and pure conscience before God
.. People who really are for God in everything, will honor what God honors - from spiritual discernment and God's transcending peace
.. Don't be afraid to go all out in your worship to God

.. It's true, I sometimes think about what people might say with the way I worship God or everything that I am in Christ with the way I am
.. I have to constantly keep a clear conscience in the eyes of God and go all out with my service and worship to Him
.. With the heart to not cause someone to stumble, I will worship and serve God with all that I got.
.. By constantly in communion with God in my spirit, I will do my best to discern the ones that are just trying to say something for their own fulfillment; I trust that the Lord will guide me in determining this.
.. Keep a single-minded focus - CHRIST and ALL HIS GLORY TO BE REVEALED!
// Lord, how awesome is Your Word that constantly reminds me of how great You are. You deserve all that I am and I will serve and worship You with the best that I can. Help me that I will also constantly check my heart that I will not cause someone to stumble with the way the serve/worship You daily. For those who are just trying to say something against my pure motives, I pray that You will give me discernment to distinguish which ones are of and not of You. Search my heart and renew the right spirit within me daily. I only want to honor You and worship You with my life, that is what I live for! All this I pray in Jesus' name, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
