Carry Over

Genesis 6:17-18; 7:1, 23
¹⁷ I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish. ¹⁸ But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons' wives with you.

¹ The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
²³ Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.

// THOUGHTS:

.. God found Noah as a righteous man
.. Because of his righteousness, though the Lord decided to wipe out mankind in the face of the earth, He spared Noah
.. Through Noah, his whole family - including the in-laws were spared as well
.. Who knows if Noah's family were also righteous - most likely too; but a 50/50 probability

.. What's the point? The righteousness of Noah was carried over to his family up to the in-laws.
.. The principle I see here is that the Lord honors the righteous and blesses not only himself but even to his entire family
.. Of course, God had a plan for Noah and why God chose him; I'll wait to ask til I get to see Him face to face - however, what we have on account is Noah's righteousness that spared him and his family from God wiping out the face of the earth and everything in it.
.. Therefore, though not all the reasons may be there for God's divine appointment, what's explicitly said is the account of Noah's righteousness before God on how he lived his (Noah's) life.


// BELLE:

.. Why do I carry all these blessings in my life? I believe partly because of the righteousness of my elders - Lolo, Lola, Papa, and Mama. Definitely has a lot to say about who they are in Christ. Praise God!
.. On my side, I want to be the same to the generations coming after me.
.. I will continue to walk in righteousness - live in righteousness - choose to walk in the righteousness of God

.. Practicality // I need to renew my mind minute by minute to keep me focused on Him. I need to be in constant prayer mode to remove anything that is corrupting my heart and thoughts at this point. Let Jesus clothe me with His attitude in all that I do.

// LORD, you've been speaking to me a lot about remaining righteous. I am living so, but I know it's not enough and you see that. I pray that You will help me see which one needs some immediate correcting - I know you need to help me refocus my mind on You and to be prayerful at all times throughout my day. Lots of things are going through my mind and sometimes it consumes my time conceptualizing things in my head. I pray that You will be my rest; that I will choose to rest in You, once again. I know why I am feeling a little weird lately, but that's no excuse. I pray that You will help me, please. Guide me and I will continually live for You. I love You! In Jesus' name, amen.
