Ezekiel 3:4-6
He then said to me: "Son of man, go now to the house of Israel and speak my words to them. 5 You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel- 6 not to many peoples of obscure speech and difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you.
// THOUGHTS:
.. Amazing call God had for Ezekiel to be the prophet to speak to the people of Israel. Totally out of his comfort zone; but totally capable. God used him. Sometimes, just like Ezekiel, God will send us to do things that we are capable of doing but yet is outside our comfort zone. God knows everything about and in us that He will ask us to do things in our capacity – and sometimes beyond, but He provides us with the capability to do it. Ezekiel was sent to Israel – not a people or land of obscure speech and language – but one that was Ezekiel was capable of communicating to.
// BELLE:
.. What does this tell me about God? God enables me to do the work He’s asking me to do. The job/s He’s asked for me to fulfill, just like Ezekiel, is not of obscure speech or language – meaning, it’s not foreign; it is something within my sphere of abilities and talents. Therefore, I must do what I ought to do without reservations. To do things in excellence, not excuses (Harris). For the ones that I am already doing, I need to be faithful in obeying the Lord’s leading step by step (like Ezekiel 4-5). God provides the direction – indeed, He is my Travel Guide. He will tell me which way to go; it its specifics.
.. Remain faithful. Do what needs to be done to get it started. Don’t be afraid to do what seems hard, tasking, and time-consuming. Re-organize and re-prioritize schedule and jobs so I may be able to do what’s most important – ones that God calls me to do for His glory.
// LORD, how many times have you reminded me? I pray that You will give me the motivation to fully give-in to the work you have asked me to do. I want to be used by You. I need help in re-organizing my time and priorities. Guide me that I will know which ones to get rid off and ones to add on. Give me wisdom and I know You will. I trust that all these things are because you have something greater in store – not only for me but for your Kingdom here in my circle of influence. Let Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, amen.
