He is help; We help.

Hebrews 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

// THOUGHTS:

God is able to help us because He also experienced the same suffering we are experiencing daily.  He is able to sympathize with us (Hebrews 4:14) because He was also tempted yet chose not to sin.

God understands our darkest nights, hence, we can come to Him for comfort, strength, advice, and guidance.

_Principles:

.. We can sympathize with others with what we also have experienced ourselves (how we handle them, how we got out of a difficult situation, how we deal with people, etc)

.. We can provide comfort (as vessels of Christ) to those who are hurting by sympathizing with them, feeling them, and putting ourselves in that situation.  Even more so, if we have experienced the same thing.

.. God can use our experiences in order to help others.

.. Therefore, we must take an opportunity to learn from each of our experiences that we may also help others learn from theirs.

// BELLE:

.. God never wastes an experience.  Whether good or bad, joyful or hurting, God will use them all for the glory of His name as long as I remain in Him and continue to love Him (And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28)  I may be able to minister to others with the experiences God has allowed in my life just as Jesus has also suffered so He can also help us.

.. I must be intentional in learning from the experiences I have daily – good, bad, hurtful, joyful, boring, exciting, etc.  I could write them down or just be thoughtful about it that I may also be able to extend help to others.

.. I must also remember that God is my sympathizer in my darkest nights.  He is able to help me because He also was tempted just like me, yet He chose not to give in to the lures of the enemy (or myself for that matter).  I have the power in Christ to resist the enemy whether it be myself or the devil himself.  I am able in Christ! :)

// Lord, thank you for reminding me of Your nature.  You are perfect in all your ways.  I pray that in all I do, I will also look to You because You are my great example; you are my source or strength; you are my help; you are my comfort and my guide.  Help me to use my experiences as well to be able to help others in their struggles.  Use me as I look to You.  All for the glory of Your name, in Jesus’ name, amen.

_MORE:

Hebrews 2:10 In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

Hebrews 3:4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
