Wk 1 Day 3
Genesis 6-8; Luke 3Luke 3:22
… 22and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
// THOUGHTS:
When the Lord Jesus was baptized in water (an outward profession of our faith; his example to us of what it’s like to do so), the Holy Spirit proclaimed who He was – God’s Son, whom He loves, and whom He is well pleased.
What this reminds me of is that, as believers, we also are children of God whom God loves. The question is, would God say to us “with you I am well please”? The Lord was pleased with the perfect Jesus. But how about to us? Is he pleased with the way we live our lives? the way we conduct ourselves? the example that we show to others?
// BELLE:
What a simple but profound truth. Is God pleased well pleased with my life? I need to continually check my actions, my words, my heart, my motives in everything that I do. I need to make sure to ask myself if God is well pleased with the way I am conducting my life. If not, I need to change immediately. It’s a great reminder to check my attitudes and my life in its totality.
// Thank you Jesus for reminding me that life is all about living to please You and none other. Forgive me for the times when I just catered to my own feelings and own wants. I pray that You will help me to constantly be in check with the way I conduct myself. I pray that You will be well pleased in all that I do. Guide me as You said You would; help me to cooperate with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
