Week 2 Day 4
Genesis 27-28; Psalm 4; Luke 11
Genesis 28:3
May
// THOUGHTS:
It's crazy to think that one day, just like everyone else who will bear offspring, will eventually become a community of peoples. Simply, what kind of community would we "produce" with the kind of people we are? When Isaac blessed Jacob (though deceived Esau), he poured our blessings that the Lord would make him fruitful and increase in numbers. Then, made me think that there is blessing in a fruitful and numerous community. However, many of us only think of either one - fruitful (flourishing quality-wise, with substance - bearing fruit, healthy) or numerous (flourishing quantity-wise) when the blessing given was both. When we become a "community of peoples" in whatever endeavor God leads us into (whether in ministry or our own blood line), may we be blessed quality-wise and quantity-wise. Both a important.
// BELLE:
Couldn't grasp why this verse stood out the most today. Perhaps, it's a reminder that one day, I will be a mother of a community of peoples - whether it's when I get married or when I will be used to grow a ministry. It reminds me of what I need to do now - to be faithful. So when, God-willing, I grow a community of peoples, I can bring forth blessings to them.
I just remembered Lolo Roque when reading this verse. He has grown into a community of peoples, and I am part of that. His faithfulness has been showered to me and to the rest because the Lord has blessed Him. In the same way, may I be faithful so when it's time for me to have a community of peoples, I will be spreading that blessing to them as well.
Will be faithful. Will sow a good seed for an upcoming community of peoples that will one day rise when God uses me as an instrument - ministry-wise and bloodline-wise. I don't want to be the reason why my community of peoples would be a rebellious community. I want to be the person whom God will use to be an example for them to follow - a part of the reason for the great blessings that will come about in the community of peoples God will build through me.
// LORD, thank you for an awesome reminder. I know that there is more to life than where I am right now. I know that you will use me to one day have a community of peoples under me and perhaps, my husband one day. I know that You will build that through me and I pray that I will be prepared for that thoroughly that even now, I will already be faithful in all things that I do. Even if I only have Julia for now (blood-wise), I know one day this community will grow and use me to be a part of the blessings you're going to bring about to this community. Guide me in every step of the way. In Jesus' name, amen.
