Week 3 Day 7
Exodus 1-2; Psalm 88; Luke 21
Exodus 1:20-21
So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
// THOUGHTS:
The Lord gave provision of forgiveness, kindness and mercy to the midwives even if they lied to Pharaoh for the sake of their fear of God. There is one thing that stands out to me: the high call to do when we are asked by authorities to do something against God's ordinance and beyond the call of duty to our obedience to God is:
_to do what would ultimately glorify the name of God
_to do what does not make you sin against God
Since the midwives feared God, God provided provisions for their "lying". It's hard to understand this because we know that lying is also a sin against God. Yet, God made provisions for them to be forgiven and was given kindness - even more so, blessed them. God's sovereignty is unfathomable. We just have to trust that the Lord knew what He was doing.
// BELLE:
Whatever pleases God. Whatever glorifies God. Anything that doesn't make me sin against God. That's the highest call.
With the situations that I am currently facing... what pleases God? what glorifies His name? what is the higher calling for this?
No questions asked. I will take the highest call of obedience to God and whatever pleases His name.
// LORD, I know you are a forgiving God. You are a providing God. You want Your name to be glorified in everything. I pray for Your guidance to be sensitive to Your leading always; whenever You want me to do what needs to be done in certain situations. You know what they are and I just trust in what Your Word has said. I lift up everything to You. Please do remove the burden in my heart and perhaps, some condemnation or pressures I am putting myself into. I will take Your burden, because I know it's light. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name, amen.
