Week 4 Day 1.5
Exodus 3-8; Luke 22-23
Luke 22:42-44
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." 43An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. 44And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
_Jesus was suffering, in great pain, and asked the Father to remove such things
_Still submitted to the Father's will if it be that He (Jesus) must go through this suffering to fulfill God's plans
_God provided comfort for Jesus - an angel came and strengthened Him.
_More prayer to parallel the anguish of Jesus - earnest prayer with sweat like drops of blood
Sometimes, God allows us to go through some great trial or good sufferings in in order for God's will to manifest to its fullest. Therefore, we ought to submit to God's will (and His way of doing things) knowing that He will provide strength as we through the blue.
Tip from Jesus: The more anguish, the more earnest prayer.
Go through the pain if this is ultimately going to unfold the fullness of God's will and plan. Jesus had the end in mind - salvation for all mankind - and the suffering will equal to nothing in comparison to what's so great and beautiful that is came ahead of what Christ has done for us!
// BELLE:
_will go through the blue
_more anguish = more earnest prayer
_believe and receive the strength God provides
_expect the fulfillment of God's will when everything the suffering is over
_go through the blue with the end in mind - manifestation of God's will
// LORD, how timely is Your word. I pray that you indeed strengthen me at this time. I know I have to go through the blue at times because you have greater things coming ahead. I submit to Your will - whatever pleases you and whatever glorifies You. I'm dying to self that You may come alive in me. In Jesus' name, amen.
