Week 4 Day 2.5
Exodus 9-13; Luke 22-23
Exodus 12:31-32
During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested. 32 Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me."
_Pharaoh hardened his heart even with all the signs and wonders Moses and Aaron did.
_Pharaoh let the Israelites go when he was hit home with the death of his son.
_He had "control" over the Israelites, when they are able to be let go.
_The Israelites were stuck because of Pharaoh's hard heart.
_They just obeyed what they had to do (like the Passover instructions, etc)
_They finally left Egypt (the Exodus) when after all the plagues, Pharaoh let them go
God had great plans for the Israelites. All they did was to obey what God said and they'll reach to where God prepared the land of milk and honey. Yet, there were hindrances for them - Pharaoh and even later, their disobedience, complaining, murmuring, etc.
Aren't we sometimes our own "Pharaohs" that stop ourselves to be let go of certain situations in our lives that could have made us reach our "promised land?" Stop hardening your heart with all the signs; don't ignore them or act in "la la land" - see the truth, see reality, hit it hard and face the truth.
Ouch. I am my own "Pharaoh" in my little "Egypt" keeping my own "Israelite" life in captive with the hardness of my heart. Clear as glass. I am out of that. It has hit home. The Lord be with me as I travel through the long route (Exodus 13:17) knowing that the Lord knows the best of all things.
// LORD, I surrender. Forgive me for everything I've done that has displeased and disobeyed you. Forgive me for not seeing things eye to eye as how You see it. Guide me through this next step of the journey you've laid out for me. YOU ARE GOOD and FAITHFUL! I trust in You at all times. I love You and I submit to you - surrendering it all to You! In Jesus' name, amen.
