The "What To Do?" List

Week 5 Day 3
Exodus 28-29; Acts 6-7

Exodus 28:36-38
"Make a plate of pure gold and engrave on it as on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD. 37 Fasten a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban; it is to be on the front of the turban. 38 It will be on Aaron's forehead, and he will bear the guilt involved in the sacred gifts the Israelites consecrate, whatever their gifts may be. It will be on Aaron's forehead continually so that they will be acceptable to the LORD.

// THOUGHTS:

Among with the other verses in these 2 chapters of Exodus 28-29 (at least for the day's reading), it's a list of "what to do's" for Moses on how to make the sacred garments for Aaron, the priest.  Why so detailed?  What's the purpose?  Did Moses have to follow each of the measurements?

_God cares for the details
_We may not know the purpose, but God does - and even if it seems like there's no purpose to these specific instructions, God may be testing Moses to see if he was still obedient and would be following God's instructions diligently.

// BELLE:

God sees what's in my heart.  He wants to see if I am being diligent in carrying out the specific instructions He has asked me to do so He may take me to the next level of obedience.  I already know what they are.  Just need to carry them out with the best of my ability knowing that the Lord is going to provide for each of these instructions - both financial, strength, time, the grace and ability to do what needs to be done.  I will trust in Jesus!

// Lord, yes, I will obey You no matter what happens.  Help me to accomplish what You are asking me to do.  Thank you again for reminding me about these things.  Great is Your Word and timely is Your Word.  I pray that You will empower me to do my job diligently and to accomplish these things ALL for the glory of Your name.  In Jesus' name, amen.
