Week 10 Day 1.2
Mark 12 Mark 12:12
12 The religious leaders wanted to arrest Jesus because they realized he was telling the story against them—they were the wicked farmers. But they were afraid of the crowd, so they left him and went away.
This is how you know the hypocrisy of the Pharisees - they cared too much about what people would think in such a way to make them look good even though their hearts were full of selfishness and greed.
Seeking approval from man can either spring from a selfish heart (to just please others) or from a selfless heart (that cares about being a good testimony).
What's the difference? Motivation, intention, and the heart.
// BELLE:
With all the busyness these past few days and the few days to come, I desire and will work towards doing things out of my love for God - solely! May my actions be an outflow of my love for God that nothing within me will be suppressed out of mere selfishness but rather, to ALWAYS be a good testimony to others (as an outflow of my love for God!)
// LORD, today is Your day. May YOU be pleased! Create in me a clean heart and please renew the right spirit within me. Thank you for Your unending love. In Jesus' name, amen.
