One Righteous Act

Week 10 Day 7

Joshua 1-2; Psalm 37; 1 Cor. 3

Joshua 1:19

If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads; we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on them.

Psalm 37:34

Hope in the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.

THOUGHTS:

Rahab – let the Israelite spies in her house.  In return, she was given favor and ALL WHO ARE IN THE HOUSE with her.

Psalmist – reminds us that ought to keep hoping in the Lord (that is believing in faith), keeping His ways.  The realization of this “promised land” is when all the wicked are destroyed.  That wicked could mean anyone, anything or even ourselves.

PRINCIPLES:

Because of the righteous deed and choice of one person, Rahab, ALL WHO ARE IN HER HOUSE were safe and benefited from it.

Those who allow the Lord to “destroy” the wicked (whether attitudes, people, things) in their lives, will see their “promised land” (or perhaps, their destination).

BELLE:

People IN MY HOUSE (in the circle of my influence) will benefit with the acts of righteousness I do for the sake of God’s kingdom.  I must not fret or be afraid to do it – in the end, it is God’s will and God’s name will be glorified.

The Lord will lead me to the next part of my destination (or perhaps the final destination) as I allow Him to rip off the wicked things, attitudes, people, things, in my life – even if I have to suffer for it.  I must be willing and be ready to face it with courage knowing that the Lord is with me all the way.

LORD, You are gracious.  Your Word is truth and Your Word is my guide.  Thank you for always being so faithful to me even when there’s nothing good left in me.  You remain good as You’ve always said You are.  Please empower me through my daily journey that I will always and always will, choose what is righteous in Your eyes.  Comfort and give peace to those who will be affected through this process of You pruning me to be the person You want me to be.  I know there’s something great coming and I know right now, You really are slowly removing these things out of my life completely.  Thank you and I can’t thank you enough for everything that You do for me.  I will live for You and will love YOU all the more!  IN CHRIST’S NAME I CAN DO ALL THINGS, amen.
