Belongingness

Week 10 Day 5
Deut. 30-31; Psalm 40; 1 Cor. 1

Deut. 30:6 (KJV)
And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Circumcision - the cutting off of the foreskin of the male sexual organ as a form of ritual as God's covenant to Moses and the people of Israel; a sign of "belongingness" to the Lord.

Circumcision of the heart - then, is the cutting off of our "foreskin" - our old life - and now a sign of us belonging to the Lord.  According to this verse, Deut. 30:6, the circumcision of the heart is what the Lord does so that (NIV) we may love him more!

// BELLE:

Now that I have been circumcised by God in my heart, I must already do the things of one belonging to the Lord.  Meaning, I have already left behind my old life and now living my life as one who is a part of God's kingdom.

My life must exemplify Psalm 40:8 "I desire to do you will, O my God; your law is within my heart." as one who belongs to the Lord.  Because we know that Psalm 40:4a says, "Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust..." A person who wholly submits and trusts the Lord in all things is blessed.

What a great encouragement to hear that by GOD cutting off the "old skin" of my heart, I will then have the "new heart" to love him more -- to desire Him more and to be in love with Him with all aspects of my being - heart, soul, strength.

// LORD, it is not difficult to love you at all.  But you know that we, as human beings, have a hard time showing that love to You by our submission and obedience.  You have so many assurance in Your word that those who fully trust You is blessed.  Please Lord, help me to do so and live by that every single day; especially at those times when I am lacking courage to do it.  Please give me courage Lord to do the things that are hard.  You are my confidence and I fully trust in You in all situations of my life.  I DESIRE TO DO YOUR WILL, O MY GOD!  I lift this up to You, in Jesus' name amen.
