Week 12 Day 7
Joshua 21-22; Psalm 47; 1 Corinthians 10
// AT A GLANCE:
Joshua 21 - The receiving of their inheritance as promised by the Lord.
Joshua 22 - Integrity in faithfulness
Psalm 47 - God's presence is amid praises.
1 Corinthians 10 - Thinking of others for the purpose of salvation.
// AT A LENS:
1 Corinthians 10:24; 31-33
No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.
// THOUGHTS:
Ultimately, it must be our desire to give glory to God in all things - including the ones we do not want to do (ie. swallowing the pride of catering to our own needs but rather seeking the good of others for the sake of salvation).
// BELLE:
I must be willing to "please others" for the sole purpose of pleasing God and giving glory to His name no matter how hard it is for me to do it. I need to swallow my pride and just allow God to be glorified. After all, life is about living for Him and dying to my selfish desire.
With this, I got some work to do!
// LORD, you know I need your strength on this. I pray that You will help me to respond to your call with courage. I know you have more than enough power for me to enable me to do this. All this is for your glory - please help me to die to myself every second. Capture every thought of mine to Yours alone. I pray this and claiming it in faith knowing that I will be victorious in You. In Jesus' name, amen.
