Seasons, Days, Time

Week 13 Day 3
Judges 4-5; Psalm 39, 41; 1 Corinthians 13

Judges 4:14; 15:31
14 Then Deborah said to Barak, “Go! This is the day the LORD has given Sisera into your hands. Has not the LORD gone ahead of you?” So Barak went down Mount Tabor, with ten thousand men following him.

31 “So may all your enemies perish, LORD!
But may all who love you be like the sun
when it rises in its strength.”

Then the land had peace forty years.

THOUGHTS:

In life, there are seasons.  In each season, there are days.  In each day, there is a time.
  • "This is the day the Lord has given..." --- the Lord has appointed specific days in our lives that He deems best for us to accomplish or reach.
  • "Has not the Lord gone ahead of you..." --- the Lord, who has given this time, has already gone ahead of us; hence, the success awaiting.
  • "Then the land had peace forty years." --- after the fact of achieving such specific goal at that specific season, day, or time, there is an outcome;  we may also learn that at specific seasons in life, there will be something we ought to pursue or to deal with in order for "the land" to have "peace" for a certain period.  Not to discount the fact that being in Christ is total peace - but this is more towards those times when the Lord "shakes us out of a peaceful state" (say a  disagreement, or conquering the flesh) in order for us to grow and encounter things that we may know who He is more and more.
PERSONAL:

The Lord has his time set for me for certain things I ought to accomplish.  When that day comes, I must conquer and advance knowing that He has already given me that season to accomplish His will and purpose.  Praise God for "the shaking" that there will be "peace" and let that specific thing be done away with - all for the glory and growth of spirituality in Christ alone.

LORD, You are all-powerful and I will obey You all the days of my life.  I know that each time, you always have specific things You want us to deal with so that peace for that certain something may be reached.  Thank you for helping me survive and have courage to do what needs to be done.  At that time when I was shaken, I know You were there with me all the way.  You are my comfort and refuge and I praise You for that.  I will serve you all the days of my life.  In Jesus' name, amen.
