Preparations

Week 20 Day 1
1 Chronicles 22-24

1 Chronicles 22:5 (Good News Translation)
5 David thought,
The Temple that my son Solomon is to build must be splendid and world-famous. But he is young and inexperienced, so I must make preparations for it. So David got large amounts of the materials ready before he died.

>

David desired to build the temple of the Lord, however, God did not allow him to.  Instead, God revealed to David that his son, Solomon would be the one to do it.

From David's side:
.. He was accepting of what God has charged him to do
.. He may not have been able to build the temple of God as David desired to, yet God provided a way for his desire to still be answered - through his son Solomon
.. He made preparations for Solomon - to help him out of what needed to be done before David passed
.. He was supportive of what needed to be done; not hoarding fame to himself (David) and sharing it to Solomon whom God called to build the temple.
.. God has already given David many victories, and now God is passing on the vision to his Solomon
.. David supported, gave freely, submitted to the Lord, and continually served the Lord.

Lessons:
.. We may have desires for the ministry that we want to accomplish, but it is not always that we will be the one to complete it.  God completes the work He's charged us to do on earth, not us.  Therefore, He will provide people and resources to make sure this work is accomplished.
.. We ought to be submissive to what God wants us to do; to whichever level God wants to take us and continually learn what God has for us to learn - no matter what ministry He's leading us in to.
.. Be supportive and giving freely to help those who are inexperienced and perhaps, young, as they carry out the work of the Lord.

Perfect for the season.  I will give freely.  I will support. I will help make preparations for the next season in the ministry.  I know the Lord is pleased of the victories and the accomplishments already done.  Now, it's on to the next chapter of the work.  I will continually be faithful no matter what comes along the way.

Lord, you are always timely when you speak.  Thank you for the assurance that everything is going to be fine. Thank you for the guidance that you also have given as what I need to do at this time.  Please continually provide wisdom on what things needed to be prepared, that I need to do, for the next chapter of the ministry.  Lord, I just commit to you everything because you truly are my Shepherd.  I just want to follow where you want me to go.  Even if sometimes I do not exactly know what's going to happen next, help me to just trust that Your ways are always higher than my ways.  The things that I see are not exactly what you see... though I may see a little part of it, you see the whole picture.  I will trust in You.  I will be faithful on what I need to do for the preparation.  In Jesus' name, amen.
