Able To Choose the Best

Week 24 Day 1
Songs 4-8; Philippians 1

Philippians 1:9-11 (GNT)

⁹ I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgment,¹⁰ so that you will be able to choose what is best. Then you will be free from all impurity and blame on the Day of Christ.¹¹ Your lives will be filled with the truly good qualities which only Jesus Christ can produce, for the glory and praise of God.

• Growing Love in True Knowledge + Perfect Judgment = Able to Choose What Is Best!
• Ever thought of trying to see how we can discern what is best?  Have a growing love in the Lord (and His people), true knowledge that comes from the Word and perfect judgment (depth of insight).  Then, you'll be able to choose what is best.  Until then, we'll always be clouded in our choosing.
• Being able to choose what is best = free from all impurity and blame until the day of Christ.
• Only Christ Jesus can produce in us truly good qualities; ALL for His glory and praise!

// I want to be able to choose what is best at all times.  To be able to discern what God wants for me to do - and what He wants for me, is no doubt, the best!  I must then, continue to grow in love, true knowledge and perfect judgment - continually practicing these things daily.  I would not want to settle for anything less than the best - God is able to let me know how I can acquire such while I wait for His return.

Discerning what is best couples up with a deep love in Truth (True Knowledge) and Life (Perfect Judgement).  I will live such life as God calls me to be.

Practicals --
.. digging in the Word more; sharpening and always surrounding with godly things
.. choosing what is right even if hurts or hard to do

// Lord, truly You are the one who is able to produce in me those good qualities that I cannot possess on my own.  I just entrust to You my life knowing that You are more than able to do this.  Please help me to always choose You no matter what happens; to tame my tongue, to take my thoughts captive into what's pleasing before You, etc.  I know that I will be successful because You are the power behind all that I do.  In Jesus' name, amen.
