Titus 2:9-10 (Good News)
9 Slaves are to submit themselves to their masters and please them in all things. They must not talk back to them10 or steal from them. Instead, they must show that they are always good and faithful, so as to bring credit to the teaching about God our Savior in all they do.
This passage may be well talking about slaves. However, one thing we can learn is that we ought to do everything to "bring credit" to the teaching about God our Savior in all that we do. Slaves are no different than us in a sense that, they are also human beings like us; also, that we are slaves to righteousness as well.
"To bring credit to the teaching about God" means to "make it the teaching about God attractive" (NIV). We do good works for the sake of bringing others to Christ. Good works is also an evidence of our salvation; not the source of. Therefore, make every effort to make the Gospel attractive and to bring credit to it by the way we live our lives - both in the Christian community and outside with unbelievers.
// Gotta watch all that I say and do by thinking the right things always. It's always for the glory of God that I ought to do things daily therefore, I must make every effort, by the power of the Holy Spirit who will empower me, I will be shining so bright that it attracts people to the Gospel - both in the believing community (where it will enc
ourage them to grow more in the Lord and live for Jesus wholly) and in the unbelieving surroundings (that they will be thirsty and hungry for the Gospel.)
// Lord, you are my true Salvation! I pray that You will help me to rid of thoughts that will cause me to do or say things that don't make your Gospel attractive or credible. I want to be a living testimony of a real saved person - one that's been changed by the blood of Christ. Thank you Lord because I know that you will empower me; guiding me through the process of making sure I am living my life for Your glory and honor. In Jesus' name, amen!
