Obey, obey, and obey

Psalm 86
 11 Teach me, Lord, what you want me to do,
      and I will obey you faithfully;
      teach me to serve you with complete devotion.

 12 I will praise you with all my heart, O Lord my God;
      I will proclaim your greatness forever.
 13 How great is your constant love for me!
      You have saved me from the grave itself.
 14 Proud people are coming against me, O God;
      a cruel gang is trying to kill me
     people who pay no attention to you.
 15 But you, O Lord, are a merciful and loving God,
      always patient, always kind and faithful.
 16 Turn to me and have mercy on me;
      strengthen me and save me,
      because I serve you just as my mother did.
 17 Show me proof of your goodness, Lord;
      those who hate me will be ashamed
      when they see that you have given me comfort and help.

Because God is always true to what He says, there is no reason for us not to obey.  God is true to Himself.  He hears our cries.  He comforts our hearts.  He protects us and provides us with mercy and grace daily.

What else can we ask for?

Amos 5
14 Make it your aim to do what is right, not what is evil, so that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty really will be with you, as you claim he is.15 Hate what is evil, love what is right, and see that justice prevails in the courts. Perhaps the Lord will be merciful to the people of this nation who are still left alive.

 21 The Lord says,
         I hate your religious festivals; I cannot stand them!22 When you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; I will not accept the animals you have fattened to bring me as offerings.23 Stop your noisy songs; I do not want to listen to your harps.24 Instead, let justice flow like a stream, and righteousness like a river that never goes dry.

Amos 6
4 How terrible it will be for you that stretch out on your luxurious couches, feasting on veal and lamb!5 You like to compose songs, as David did, and play them on harps.6 You drink wine by the bowlful and use the finest perfumes, but you do not mourn over the ruin of Israel.7 So you will be the first to go into exile. Your feasts and banquets will come to an end.

God delights in people who obey; not just doing things "for Him" but to turn from evil ways and obey Him wholeheartedly.

Let it be our goal to OBEY THE LORD NO MATTER WHAT THE COST because He will always come through!

// God never fails to come through for me.  Proven this week after week; day after day!  I will just obey where ever God leads because He knows all things and I can trust in Him!  I just need to obey and be faithful.

.. If God leads me to do something, do it faithfully and carefully - youth and e'lan.
.. I will continue to connect with Him; trusting Him that He's got all things under control - situations in life.

// Lord, YOU ARE SO GOOD!  How can I not offer my life?  I have no excuse with my being lazy or distrusting at times.  I pray that You will help me to remember this always because Your Word always cheers me up and gives me hope!  I will just obey and trust in You at all times no matter what!  In Jesus' name, amen.
