2 Chronicles 28:22-23
22 In his time of trouble King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the LORD. 23 He offered sacrifices to the gods of Damascus, who had defeated him; for he thought, “Since the gods of the kings of Aram have helped them, I will sacrifice to them so they will help me.” But they were his downfall and the downfall of all Israel.
It’s sad to see that King Ahaz, who would’ve gotten grace and mercy from God by repenting, he rather became more unfaithful to the Lord. Regardless of all the help he got to change or be humbled, nothing and no one has helped in his restoration. Instead, King Ahaz brought trouble to those who’ve helped him and worse, trusted in the “gods of the kings of Aram” by offering sacrifices to them. [temporary and not long-lasting.]
// Practicals:
.. When someone offers help, take it because it will be for our good. Don’t add on to the sins you’ve already committed. Change when you’ve been given another chance. Remember that trusting in things and people other than the Lord, will not last nor will it help – instead it will lead our downfall. Trust in God alone and heed His call.
// Belle:
.. I will not allow the time when the Lord will just hand me over to my enemies to due to my disobedience to Him. When I am given another chance to change and do things right, I will take it and be wholeheartedly living for the Lord. This is where I am. I am a sinner saved by grace – God has given me the chance to change and live for Him so I am completely indebted to Him. I will follow Him all the days of my life and not allow anything to hinder me from moving forward to who God wants me to be.
// Lord God, thank you so much for all the chances you have given me to live for you. I will be living my life for You with all my heart. I don’t deserve it but You still gave it to me. I will live for You! Let me not come to a time that I will not listen to You and that you’d hand me over to the enemy… I will live for You all my life! I love you, In Jesus’ name, amen.
