Isaiah 35:1-2b

1 The desert and the parched land will be glad;
   the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.
Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom;
   it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.

3 Strengthen the feeble hands,
   steady the knees that give way;
4 say to those with fearful hearts,
   “Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
   he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
   he will come to save you.”

God will bring about life to the “desert and parched land” and it will be glad.  It will spring up like the crocus; rejoicing greatly and shout for joy!

// This verse is very personal to me.  This past 6 months, it has been literally a spiritual desert and parched land.  But with this verse, it reminds me that God will make this desert and parched land glad, rejoice, blossom, and shout for joy.  I am not giving up on God and I never have.  I will be hanging on to God no matter what.  I will be faithful with what He’s going to do.  My hands may have been feeble; my knees may have wanted to give way but even at times when my heart felt fearful, I know that I can remain strong in the Lord and the Lord will be on my side.  I have proven that, and I will prove it some more as I continue in this course of life.  God is good and like his word says,

“Be strong, do not fear;
your God will come,
   he will come with vengeance;
with divine retribution
   he will come to save you.”

I will obey.  I will trust.  I will hang on to the Lord and wait for His breakthrough in my life!  I will be living the hope of the glory of God!

// Lord, You are just so wonderful.  It has been such a great experience.  Though this year, it has been so dry and heart breaking, yet I know that You’ve allowed that to happen to strengthen your servant.  I will follow and obey you no matter what happens in life.  I will trust in your power and in your great love that surrounds me and gives me the peace.   Thank you for your forgiveness that I can move past my past because you already have!  Thank you for a new start and I will live for your all of my days until you come and get me.  I praise You!  I offer to you all the endeavors that’s about to occur in this next new year of my walk with you.  You are worthy to be praised and I will just give You glory in everything.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
