Unplowed

Hosea 10:12-13

12 Sow righteousness for yourselves,
   reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
   for it is time to seek the LORD,
until he comes
  and showers his righteousness on you.
13 But you have planted wickedness,
   you have reaped evil,
   you have eaten the fruit of deception.
Because you have depended on your own strength
   and on your many warriors,

The Lord is gracious to those who seek Him; He showers His righteousness to those who are humble.  Man, if not trusting in God, depends on his own strength and his “many warriors” (possessions or abilities) and fails.  Avoid planting wickedness and reaping evil or getting deceived by depending on our own or abilities/strength.  Rather, sow seeds of righteousness and harvest unfailing love.  Break up your unplowed ground – the ground that’s been hardened and unused or stepped on; use it and till it again because NOW is the time to seek the Lord; NOW is the time to return to Him.

At this point, I really need to “break up the unplowed ground.”  It has been so long that I felt a little unproductive with the things around me.  It’s time to SEEK the Lord over again; to be productive again; to grow new things; to plant something new for a new harvest with continual tilling and planting.  I will do my part in seeking God’s will over again – just living life very productively and giving thought to ways so I don’t keep the ground “unplowed.”  Be back on routine and have a plan on how to till, plan, and harvest in time.

Lord, what an awesome re-routing of my current situation.  Thank you for always coming through when I need to.  I will not rely anymore on my strength and having the attitude of just positivity due to experience or past blessings.  Yes, those are good but I pray that those won’t be my main reasons but rather, trusting in You and putting my energy on You alone.  Help me to be tilling this unplowed ground again.  New things, new people, new planting, new harvesting.  I will seek you and see what you have in stored for me to do to bring glory to Your name again!  In Jesus’ name, amen.
