Jeremiah 35:18-19
Then Jeremiah turned to the Recabites and said, “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have obeyed your ancestor Jehonadab in every respect, following all his instructions.’ 19 Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jehonadab son of Recab will always have descendants who serve me.’”
Obedience activates the promises of God into effect. Our obedience to the Lord and His delegated authorities (as Johanadab was for the Recabites) will never go to waste – it will, in its time, produce the fruit of God’s promise to those who walk in it.
I am still in hanging on to the Lord. I will obey the Lord as He leads me. I will be sensitive to His leading in my life and I know that He will never ever leave me alone nor let my life be in shambles. He is my rock and my foundation. I will not be moved. I believe in the promises God has for me. I know that His promises are true and real. Because of that, I will obey and see the Lord’s promises come into fruition. I can’t wait to see them come to pass. I am excited and expectant of the realization of God’s promises. I look forward to them daily. I will be obedient. I will be faithful to obey the Lord’s command as well as obey those who are placed in authority over me.
// Lord, you are so good. Thank you for your promises that gives me assurance to Your great plans. I know that even though there are times I feel that time is being stretched too far apart from one phase to the next, I know that You are pacing things so You may accomplish ALL that You have planned for me. Help me to obey You every single moment. To be sensitive to Your presence and to not turn away from it. Thank you for Your guiding love that gives me the grace to walk in obedience to You. You are wonderful and I am grateful for ALL that You have done and are doing in my life. I love You Lord and I will be faitthful to You all the days of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
