God’s promise is the Antidote to Suffering

Psalm 119:50

My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.

Personally speaking, I feel that I am suffering with a lot.  I am struggling to get things back in the proper order and routine, to discover new visions, to see big dreams again, to spark up new ideas, and just to get back up and running just like before or even better.  I echo the Psalmist’s words, “My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.” (119:20)  It has been a long time of longing to experience the fresh touch of God again in a different way.  But even in this season of suffering (in any degree) one truth remains: GOD’S PROMISE PRESERVES MY LIFE!  With that, I do not need to fret nor be in the mindset of suffering.  The Lord’s promises will preserve me! I will hope in the word of the Lord.  I will rest in the presence of my God in the midst of what seemingly is “suffering.”  Whether the suffering I experience is inflicted within or by others, I must always remember the truth that GOD’S PROMISES WILL PRESERVE ME all the way.

I need not to stop in pursuing the Lord whether I hear, feel, or see God’s hand move.  Indeed, I may be truly need to REST in Him in so many ways.  I will just trust in Him.  I will just believe in His promises that has the ability to preserve my life.  To be preserved means to be kept afresh regardless of time.  God’s promises can do that.  I can be fresh daily through the Word of God – His promises, His words, His voice.

// LORD, what else can I ask for?  I need to dive into Your Word where you will keep me fresh.  Thank you for the wonderful Word.  Thank You that your promises will keep me preserved – as the Psalmist said, “These words hold me up in bad times; yes, your promises rejuvenate me.”  Thank you Lord for the answer of how I can be FRESH AGAIN – how I can be preserved and how I can be rejuvenated again!  THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORD THAT HAS ALL YOUR PROMISES!  I will read it, digest it, think about it, and live it by the grace that You give me.  Thank YOU!  In Jesus’ name, amen.
