Intercessor

Hebrews 7:25

This means that he can save fully and completely those who approach God through him, for he is always living to intercede on their behalf. (Phillips)

 

Jesus is One who intercedes for us.  He is our bridge to the Father.  In fact, He is the only True Way (John 14:6) to the Father.

 

Temporary, earthly priests may be faithful and walking blamelessly, but they also will eventually die (physically.)  But Jesus, though He died, He lives forever.  He can intercede for us – intervene and be the one who enables us to do the great things we cannot do on our own.  A priest gives encouragement, affirms and “gives” forgiveness by virtue of his role, correct if necessary… Jesus can do all that.  Perfectly! 

I ought to live for Him.  I can trust that He will provide me encouragement whenever I come and ask for forgiveness.  He will not condemn me and will make a way for me to be clean as He is interceding on my behalf. 

Lord, I will live for YOU!  Thank you that You are my forever intercessor.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
