Psalm 119:112
My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.
I’ve read half of Psalm 119 today and at many times, the Psalmist exhausts his love for the precepts of God; he has the confidence of one who eats the Word of God hence, able to plead God for great help… but in totally, this verse is one that summarizes his intent = HIS HEART IS SET ON KEEPING GOD’S DECREES. This means that no matter what is going on in his life, whether the Lord is taking a while to take vengeance on his enemies, the promises of God coming to pass, the realization of God’s word in his lifetime, the Psalmist’s heart is set on keeping and doing the precepts of God. It was a decision he made, and he is set on it. What about you?
Belle:
.. I, as well, am set on keeping the Lord’s decrees. I will make that decision daily – that no matter what happens in life, I will keep the Lord’s precepts, decrees, and commands in my heart. Setting my heart on God’s decrees will mean to constantly, daily, and every bit listen and trust what it says even if it doesn’t make sense, or I’m not feeling it, or I am not seeing the results of it as of yet. The Lord is true to His promises and we know that His Word never fails, nor changes, nor does it deny itself. The Bible says that everything on earth will fade except for the Word of God – it stands forever! HENCE, MY HEART IS SET TO KEEPING GOD’S DECREES in every moment of my life.
Lord, help me to follow through in keeping and setting my heart on your decrees moment by moment of my life. Help me to display that and to not be mediocre in the way I live or do thing in in my life. Guide me Oh God. Let Your joy be my strength – whatever pleases you, let that energize me to do great things for Your glory! In Jesus’ name, amen.
