Compassion Beats Position

“By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side.
“Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. (Luke 10:31-33 NLT)

Compassion supersedes our status and/or position in life. Anyone can have position or a high status, but not everyone has compassion. Like the Samaritan, we must be filled with compassion to our neighbors. Does not matter who they are but to be equally compassionate to those who need our help. Some may be wounded and they need a Samaritan who will take care of them for a while.. But the essence is that we show the Spirit of Christ alive in us when we are compassionate just as Jesus was & is to us!

// Position and status can build pride which then causes us to be insensitive to others.. But compassion is what breaks all pride and shows forth the Spirit of God at work. I need to "breakdown" my position and live a life of compassion especially to those who are wounded. Only God has the right to be in "position.". I must be able to let go of my status in order to show compassion to my neighbor.

// Lord I know that you will give me wisdom and empowerment and even provision as I be compassionate to my neighbors. Give me the ability and the tools on how I can be a better example to those around me -- even to those who are in position. Your will be done Lord and thank You for Your amazing Word. In Jesus name, amen.
