Beyond Normal
32 “If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them. 33 And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do that.
Luke 6:32

As believers, we are called to be beyond the norm.  To go beyond what is the status quo of what and who's in this world.  We are called not only to be average but to be above average.  God delights in His people who go beyond the norm, but be above the average.  

// How many times have I just been tempted to settle on just being normal?  To settle with a simple lifestyle with a bit of compromise to high standards? I need to continue in the status quo of Jesus -- where it's not categorized as "even 'sinners' do that" category.  What makes me different?  It's the uniqueness of having the Spirit of God to guide me and lead me to a status quo beyond the norm.  I will say NO to the normal and go beyond normal.  Striving for excellence in my lifestyle, work ethic, and not allowing anyone to lead me to any slight compromise.  I will work on raising the bar all the time in all that I do. 

// Lord, please guide me and lead me to always stay above the norm.  To not be tempted to settle on the comfortable but to one known as someone who is always led by your Spirit in every way. I lift up to you every slight bit of slipping to compromises due to convenience.  Help me to be above the norm always.  By the power of Your Holy Spirit and in Jesus' name, amen.
