Chill Out, You've Got The Power!

Acts 1:7-8 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

I sometimes feel like the Apostles -- asking for the "when!" Yet Jesus didn't tell them and even confirmed that it is not for them to know... Rather, they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on them and become witness. What is relationship between knowing the timings of God and the Holy Spirit's empowerment to us and become witnesses of Jesus Christ? A few things I can consider:

- God knows all things we need not to be stressing out about the when's
- God knows that there are implications when we would know His ways and timing on things to happen
- Though Jerusalem wouldn't have been restored in our lifetime, Jesus was assuring that the Holy Spirit would empower us to become witnesses even before the time Jerusalem would be completely restored
- That would mean, trials and tribulations would come around but we have the Holy Spirit

Lessons:
- i need to always acknowledge that despite all the troubles occurring in life is turning me upside down, teaching lessons i wouldn't have learned otherwise, i need to know that I have the Holy Spirit empowering me to go through each day to be Christ's witness.
- Endure, persevere, be empowered but look forward to that day...

Lord, you know how hard it is to go on when things aren't in the most comfortable place. Yet you assure that I have the Holy Spirit to empower me to be your witness. Please help me to always remember that no matter what comes my way. Help me to just rely and trust in your timings always. In Jesus' name, amen
